Mastering the Base Slope Corrector (0-5%)

Detailed instructions on how to use the bottom slope corrector to easily compensate for uneven substrates.

Standard 5-Step Installation

Follow these best practices to ensure a level, stable, and durable raised floor using Taurus Pedestals.

1

Substrate Preparation

Ensure the base surface (concrete slab, waterproofing membrane, or compacted ground) is clean, solid, and free of debris. Identify the drainage slopes and determine the starting point (usually the highest or lowest corner).

Pro TipUse protective rubber base pads under the pedestals if installing directly over sensitive waterproofing membranes to prevent puncture.

2

Grid Layout & Spacing

Mark the layout grid based on the dimensions of your pavers or the required span of your joists. Place the TA Series pedestals roughly in position at the grid intersections.

Pro TipFor 600x600mm porcelain pavers, standard spacing is one pedestal at each corner. Heavy traffic areas may require a central pedestal.

3

Height & Slope Adjustment

Adjust the slope corrector at the base (if applicable) to compensate for the ground fall. Turn the threaded central collar of the pedestal to reach the exact desired finished floor height. Check with a laser or spirit level.

Pro TipAlways adjust the height before fully locking the pedestal. Use the TA Series locking ring to secure the height once leveled.

Placing Pavers or Joists

For paving: Attach the spacer tabs to the pedestal head and gently place the pavers onto the heads. For decking: Attach the joist cradle, place your joists, and screw them securely into the side walls of the cradle.

Pro TipDo not force pavers into place. If the fit is too tight, slightly adjust the pedestal positioning.

Edge Detailing & Finishing

Use specialized top and bottom edge clips (perimeter clips) to close off the exposed edges of the raised floor using vertical paver cut-offs. Ensure a gap of at least 5mm from the perimeter walls for expansion.

Pro TipPerimeter clips slide perfectly onto the TA Series base plate and head without needing screws.
